I
have had Crohn's Disease for the last seven years. At one stage
when I was only fourteen, I had to have some of my bowels removed
in 1993. I was very sick for a long time and it took me a while
to feel like my old self once again. I was in pain for four years
before the doctorsfound out it was Crohn's disease that was causing
it. They just kept saying it was only a virus. After I moved to
Coffs Harbour and saw the doctor there, he told me it was my appendix,
but all the time I had Crohns disease. Crohns
can make you very tired and feel like you don't want to eat. However
you do have to watch what you eat. Orange juice, milk products,
stews, fruit (some) and any sugar added as well. So you have to
have a new complete diet. The medication that I am on is called
SALAZYRIN. I have to take six of these a day. They coat my bowels.
Also I take QUESTRAN which helps me not to go to the toilet as much.
The pictures on the right show what Crohns does to your bowels.
They become swollen and inflamed. If you would like to know more
about Crohns or wish to share your own experiences with Crohns,
send me an Email.
